Comment Vaporware, likely hoax (Score 4, Interesting) 80

This looks like a ploy to generate investment money for PTScientists, a company that claims to have developed a spacecraft capable of delivering two rovers, or up to 100 kg of payload, to the lunar surface. No mention of a rocket, rocket tests or any aerospace industry activity at all, except for designing two rovers, probably in their basement.

E-mail is the last service provided by ISPs since Verizon, like many others, no longer hosts web pages for their users. This could actually be a good thing. ISPs are reduced to providing connectivity and nothing else. Now, there is no reason to stick with a given ISP, and those that have choices where they live can shop around for their internet connection.

Comment Said about every film on IMDB (Score 1) 168

"Worst movie I've seen in my life"

"You just didn't understand it"

"Most boring movie ever made"

etc., etc....

However, in between, there were a lot of great postings about soundtracks, directors, subplots, scenes, that only true fans that had seen the film several times would have known or noticed. I'll miss these postings. Without them, I have no reason to use IMDB.

Submission + - Beer on the Moon!... (ucsd.edu)

braindrainbahrain writes: ... well sort of. Students at the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering are finalists in a competition held by TeamIndus, one of the teams with a launch contract to send a spacecraft to the Moon as part of the Google Lunar XPRIZE challenge.

Their proposed experiment will test the viability of yeast on the moon—and result in a freshly brewed batch of beer. Understanding how yeast behaves on the moon isn’t just important for brewing beer in space. It’s also important for the development of pharmaceuticals and yeast-containing foods, like bread.
