Submission + - Dutch government joins fediverse (overheid.nl)

multatuli writes: As of Friday, July 7th, the Dutch government has a Mastodon instance up and running. Plan for this instance is to provide branches of the Dutch government with an account. This should assure genuine government toots.
No noticeable accounts there yet, so obviously no toots, too.

multatuli writes: During the first years of the COVID pandemic the Dutch government was confronted with some neat IT challenges. One of them: keep an eye on all the installations and infrastructures involved in responding to the pandemic. So they created OpenKAT (https://github.com/minvws/nl-kat-coordination), a tool built on top of existing tools, to explore and register your infrastructure and point out insecure situations as they occur. With some nifty features like inference rules, 'time travel' (what if I had had those rules last week?), and forensically sealed data acquisition.
