Comment DoD discussion on this on IPv4 Global (Score 1) 82

Some background here - https://ipv4.global/u-s-depart...

(1) IN GENERAL.—Not later than 10 years after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall sell all of the IPv4 addresses described in subsection (b) at fair market value. The net proceeds collected from a sale under this section shall be deposited in the General Fund of the Treasury.
(2) DEADLINES FOR CERTAIN BLOCKS.—Of the IPv4 addresses described in subsection (b), the Secretary of Defense shall sell in accordance with paragraph (1)—

(b) IPv4 addresses.—The IPv4 addresses described in this subsection are all IPv4 addresses assigned to any agency or entity of the Department of Defense, including all addresses contained in blocks 6.0.0.0/8, 7.0.0.0/8, 11.0.0.0/8, 21.0.0.0/8, 22.0.0.0/8, 26.0.0.0/8, 28.0.0.0/8, 29.0.0.0/8, 30.0.0.0/8, 33.0.0.0/8, 55.0.0.0/8, 214.0.0.0/8, and 215.0.0.0/8.

The measure did not exist in the Senate version, and the conference committee withdrew it, so the final version does not include the measure.

Comment EMF activation of VGCC (Score 0) 73

There appears to be a fair amount of research already on RF effect on Voltage Gated Calcium Channels (VGCC's). But probably any concrete results are not likely to be popular due to possible conflicts with existing technologies. This may though suggest from previous and continuing research that it was the mechanism used to cause the reported effects. A high power, focused, tuned and pulsed beam could potentially explain what was seen. But I don't see any of it being made public in specific detail by any government anytime soon. But real studies have been done. Put it in the "nothing to see here" box of mystery weapons..

From the original studies - "Among the more commonly reported changes are sleep disturbance/insomnia, headache, depression/depressive symptoms, fatigue/tiredness, dysesthesia, concentration/attention dysfunction, memory changes, dizziness, irritability, loss of appetite/body weight, restlessness/anxiety, nausea, skin burning/tingling/dermographism and EEG changes."

I'm a bit confused at why they are pushing a policy of preventing "Disinformation and Misinformation" while at the same time fighting for the likes of Rupert Murdoch? Those two are almost completely mutually exclusive.

Currently there is a countrywide ban on posting news publications/stories and my facebook feed appears to have never looked better. Back to cat memes, holiday validation photos and friends new babies. Yay!

Comment Murdoch is the driver behind this (Score 4, Informative) 15

So which publications are affiliated with the Murdoch cartel? If you live in Australia you will be well aware by now that he is the driving force behind the majority of news and tabloid publications that have historically pushed towards right wing coverage. And for Murdoch to keep his stronghold you can see examples such his move to push a cross the board "let's kick this mob out" front page headline to stave off the labour parties fibre to the home commitment in the previous election run-up. Yep, that was an entire front page headline to push voters to an opposition who effectively put the brakes on and watered down the whole concept so he could continue to pump Australians with his own agenda. Make no mistake, Murdoch uses his influence to get his way, by any means. Ethics asside.
