Submission + - Reko - a binary decompiler - reaches Version 0.9.0.0 (github.com)
It was published as an open source project Sourceforge in 2007, and it now found its home on Github: https://github.com/uxmal/reko
The decompiler is well structured, with support for many CPU architectures, both popular and less popular (some of which have historical value such as PDP11, Vax, Alpha) as well as many environments such as DOS, Windows (Windows CE and UEFI included), Linux, as well as raw binaries. The full list of Architectures, Environments and Image Loaders can be found on the project page https://github.com/uxmal/reko/....
The new 0.9 release marks an important milestone for the project, according to the creator, because it makes the decompilation process more reliable and greatly improves the decompiler output.
The challenge connected to this release, says uxmal, has been the re-arrangement of the decompiler pipeline in order to run analysis steps earlier than before. This improvement makes it possible to collect more detailed information from the file and generate code that is more faithful to the original source.
