You sir are wrong, I have dry fired my centerfire pistol hundreds of times without issue, I also own a rimfire pistol, they are supposedly more sensitive to breakage when dry firing, so I use a snap cap (a fake bullet to absorb the strike from the firing pin). however the manual for my rimfire gun says it's ok to dry fire.

Teach women self defence classes, and provide them with guns, knives, pepper spray and whatever else they want.

I'm not convinced the hunters even shot at the drone, if they did it would have lost them a lot of moral-high-ground-points.
I'm not a fan of hunting but I do understand the need for it (control deer population for one) and I will defend their rights to do it, you just won't see me hunting anything other then clay, paper or steel targets.

You are wrong, the "mileage" DOES matter, I own a sports car and I do track days, I get around 8mpg when I'm going around the track, if I show up with a full tank, I can just about make it all day without having to refuel.. but it has happened that I needed more gas during the lunch break.
If I owned a Tesla, I would have ran out of 'juice' around luch, and not been able to get on the track due to the recharge time. So while that doesn't matter to probably 95% of people who own sports cars, it *does* to me.. I love the lotus chassis and I would LOVE to own a Tesla, but that's a dealbreaker for me, I would have to own a separate trackday car..

I think the sequence went something like :
1. update facebook from driveway
2. drive 2 miles
3. facebook posting actually makes it to the server
4. get blinded by the sun
5. run over crazy old person.

How To Play HD Video On a Netbook 205

Barence writes with some news to interest those with netbooks running Windows: "Netbooks aren't famed for their high-definition video playing prowess, but if you've got about $10 and a few minutes going spare, there is a way to enjoy high-definition trailers and videos on your Atom-powered portable. You need three things: a copy of Media Player Classic Home Cinema, CoreCodec's CoreAVC codec, and some HD videos encoded in AVC or h.264 formats. This blog takes you through the process."

Pirates as a Marketplace 214

John Riccitiello, the CEO of Electronic Arts, made some revealing comments in an interview with Kotaku about how the company's attitudes are shifting with regard to software piracy. Quoting: "Some of the people buying this DLC are not people who bought the game in a new shrink-wrapped box. That could be seen as a dark cloud, a mass of gamers who play a game without contributing a penny to EA. But around that cloud Riccitiello identified a silver lining: 'There's a sizable pirate market and a sizable second sale market and we want to try to generate revenue in that marketplace,' he said, pointing to DLC as a way to do it. The EA boss would prefer people bought their games, of course. 'I don't think anybody should pirate anything,' he said. 'I believe in the artistry of the people who build [the games industry.] I profoundly believe that. And when you steal from us, you steal from them. Having said that, there's a lot of people who do.' So encourage those pirates to pay for something, he figures. Riccitiello explained that EA's download services aren't perfect at distinguishing between used copies of games and pirated copies. As a result, he suggested, EA sells DLC to both communities of gamers. And that's how a pirate can turn into a paying customer."
