Submission + - Canadian Parliament Reintroduce ISP Intercept Bill (www.cbc.ca)

Hottie Parms writes: From CBC: The Canadian federal Conservatives have reintroduced legislation that would allow police and intelligence officials to intercept online communications and get personal information from internet service providers (ISPs) about their subscribers without first obtaining a warrant.

This is the fourth time this type of legislation has been introduced. It has yet to pass but this could change with the recent changes in composition in the Canadian Senate.

Comment They should probably look at "Googling it," too (Score 3, Interesting) 426

The phrase "Google it" is used in common society as well, but who knows where the search engine giant will be 50 years from now?

Yes, it's a dictionary word, but one nice thing about these news institutions is that they provide a central archive of history and major events. Tweet is far more obscure and should be considered no different. Stick to professional language, please.

Of course, if somebody from the future looks back at newspapers from this time, they'll think that people like Lindsay Lohan were at the top of world-wide Monarchy....but that's beside the point.

Comment Is this the end of Firefox? (Score 1) 278

Seriously, IE is going to be the default browser for a lot of people. A lot of IE users will look at Chrome and say "bleck". Firefox users, on the other hand, are more open to experimentation. Thus, I think this is going to affect Firefox's market share more than anything else.

I'm not blind, but because I was cross-eyed for many years before I had corrective surgery, my brain tends to focus out of one eye primarily. My stereoscopic vision is quite limited, thus reducing depth perception and making it nearly impossible to see using those 3D glasses.

I remember staring at those Magic Eye posters for hours, frustrated that all the other kids could see dolphins and ships and stuff, while all I saw was a bunch of weird looking colors.

Thanks to the wonders of a college class on Visual Perception, I now understand why. Mod this "+5, Woe is me"?
