The judge who sentenced Paul Pelton a 41-year-old man yesterday,for vehicle trespass and disorderly conduct says he wishes he could have given him more beyond the maximum penalty under the law. Prosecutors said during the trial, that Pelton opened a door of the vehicle after it had wrecked "to continue recording" while others tried to help the two teens. Police said Pelton can be heard on the video insulting the teens calling them "idiots."

Pelton's attorneys said in court proceedings and filings that he "only opened the door because another bystander asked what was in the backseat." Pelton's defense attorney says "he (Pelton) realizes what he did was insensitive but added that it doesn't make him a criminal.
