Windows already does everything this new distribution wants to do so no one has to move away from Windows at all. WSL2 already can run Ubuntu, Debian, Suse, Oracle, and even Mint (via LinuxmintWSL2 on GitHub). At least they can try them all out before committing to a full install of their favorite.

But I agree that Linux needs to narrow itself down to a few distributions. So many developers wasting their time on insignificant little distributions when they should team up and make a couple good ones that really can compete with Windows and MacOS. Commercial software developers will never target Linux or take it seriously until they have fewer targets to build for.

But why couldn't the local shop just buy the book on Amazon for the customer (behind the scenes) and have Amazon ship it for free? Amazon's book price is probably lower anyway and the local shop can keep the difference and make some profit.

The local shop could also probably reduce their duplicates inventory as well and save costs there. They could still be there for the walk in traffic who enjoy being in a bookstore.

It will be a 'game-changer' headset with no games. AR is just a gimmick that sounds neat until you try it for 2 minutes and then put the headset down. VR can at least be enjoyed for an hour or so in a good game, but what developer is willing to spend the time to port their games to Apple for a headset no one is going to afford?

They're asking just to to verify that it's you. They've already pulled up your record and want to make sure that your answer matches what is on their screen. Especially if they have multiple records with the same first and last name.

In Canada, they may typically ask you to provide one or more details like phone number, address, or postal code. I've even heard tellers in a bank ask for info on previous transactions to help verify identity. I've never been asked to provide our SIN number though which is our equivalent to your SSN. That is a bad practice.

If they're using it as the actual account number, I'd cancel all business with them and find another company to work with. Only tax related services like banks and investment companies need the number.

So, I figured that I'd just move my personal domain from Google Apps over to my outlook.com address since I already have a Microsoft 365 Family subscription.

But no, apparently they only support personal domains if you buy it from GoDaddy and no one else. How can a company the size of Microsoft not be able to figure this out, especially when they could do it before with Hotmail. We just need MX records.

It's not a stretch. This wasn't an accidental bug that he accidentally released. We would all excuse him for that in a second. He intentionally broke his software in order to make every downstream project fail because he wanted revenge on big companies that weren't paying him.

He's lost the trust of everyone for his projects and has put a bad view on using OpenSource libraries in general. The community needs to strongly say that this was not acceptable.
