they are wrong, there will be much more professionals due to AI, caused by the fact that one with less knowledge can do more,
THE REAL PROBLEM is that those will earn less.
AI (LLM to be specific) will change how we work (as other technologies have done before), but that's not the end, at first there will be more need of software engineers since more company will be able to afford to develop a software
So, as any other field, technology will create more jobs, since the general cost of software development will decrease, but those jobs will be paid less.
For the well paid at FAANG this can be a problem, for IT in general will be better, for a while.
The problem is CAPITALISM, not the technology. We can have 20h / week jobs with current technology, but the reality even at rich countries is different since all the value is captured by the capitalist class and is not used to improve general work conditions.
