If you could start with a full battery at each end, you'd need to take three stops to do this trip in one day, total charging time just over an hour with a Model 3 or Model S. Driving 900km you'll need a few breaks anyway, it comes down to perhaps 15-20 minutes of extra waiting. My kids usually appreciate the extra ice cream stops along the way.

Having a fully charged car every morning is one of the best selling points of EVs. No more gas stations, no more waiting.
Having to go swap batteries 2-4 times a month would put us right back to the gas station problem.

I've driven electric since 2012. I've spent less time waiting for the car to charge during those 11 years than I spent going to the gas station the last year I had a gasoline car.

All of these problems are easily solved through regulation.
Requirements for charging outlets are added to the building code for any garage, parking space etc.
Existing buildings / parking spaces get's a 5 or 10 year transition period before they have to be up to code.

In areas with street parking 5-10% of parking spaces are converted to street side charging per year (no need for fast charging, 3-10kW would do). Impose large fines for parking an ICE car at a curb side charging station.

I don't know what kind of distance your house is from the road and how many hours a day you spend staring at your driveway, but if someone walked of the sidewalk and got into my car and drove away I would not notice unless I was looking out the windows at the exact moment they drove away.

In the small neighborhood where I live most cars are parked in a driveway a few meters from the road. Someone could probably drive away with 10 Teslas before anyone noticed anything, especially if done during the night. It's the same with the cars parked in the parking garages at the office. It's open during the day and it's a short relay from the office building to the garages.
