OpenCode Description
OpenCode brings AI-driven development directly into the terminal with a sleek, native TUI that adapts to your preferred theme and style. Its LSP-enabled architecture automatically detects and configures the best tools for each language, ensuring seamless coding assistance across stacks. Unlike typical agents, OpenCode is designed for true multi-session workflows, allowing multiple agents to run in parallel on the same project without conflict. Developers can instantly generate shareable links from their sessions, making debugging and collaboration smoother than ever. With support for Claude Pro, Claude Max, and over 75 different LLM providers through Models.dev—including local models— OpenCode offers unmatched flexibility. Installation is simple across npm, Bun, Homebrew, and Paru, giving developers fast access no matter their setup. Beyond the terminal, OpenCode integrates with VS Code and GitHub, extending AI power across familiar environments. For coders who want speed, flexibility, and direct control in their workflows, OpenCode is the definitive AI agent for the command line.

OpenCode review Date: Aug 02 2026
Summary: Five stars from me. OpenCode looks like a practical, flexible AI coding agent for developers who want control, model choice, and a workflow that fits the way they already code.
It is not a magic autopilot, but as a supervised coding partner for building, debugging, refactoring, and exploring a codebase, OpenCode is very compelling.Positive: OpenCode feels like a strong fit for developers who want an AI coding agent without getting locked into one model or one editor. I like that it works in the terminal, desktop, and IDE, so it can fit into different workflows instead of forcing one setup.
The model flexibility is a big win. Being able to use 75+ providers, local models, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT Plus/Pro makes OpenCode feel more open and customizable than a lot of coding assistants.
I also like the LSP support and multi-session workflow. For real coding work, it helps when the agent understands the project better and can run multiple threads of work in parallel.Negative: OpenCode is still something I would supervise closely. Any coding agent that can modify files, reason through projects, and run workflows needs clear review, tests, and good developer judgment.
