dupeGuru Description
dupeGuru is a cross platform (Linux OS X, Windows) GUI tool that finds duplicate files in a system. It is written mostly in Python 3 and uses multiple GUI toolkits that all use the same core Python code. The UI layer on OS X is written in Objective-C using Cocoa. It's written in Python on Linux and Windows and uses Qt5. dupeGuru can be used to locate duplicate files on your computer. It can scan filenames and contents. A fuzzy matching algorithm is used to find duplicate filenames, even if they are not identical. dupeGuru is available for Linux and Mac OS X. It uses a quick fuzzy matching algorithm to quickly find duplicate files. dupeGuru can not only find filenames that match, but it can also find similar filenames. It also has a music mode that scans tags and displays music-specific information in duplicate results windows.
