Threatened with legal action for an unpaid invoice 3 years old even though i had requested to close the account Date: Feb 05 2025
Summary: Horrible and doesn't respond when they make a mistake or when they wrongfully try to make you pay for an invoice for services not provided
Positive: Only good at the beginning. they are decent for as long as you continue being your customer. Once you want to get out, even after your eBay account has been suspended and even after asking them to cancel account, they still bill you for a whole new period without reason. Be very wary with giving them your card or personal details as they will simply make it very difficult for you to close the account and threaten you without notice
Negative: I had been using Webinterpret for listing on eBay for several years until April 2021. i had the yearly subscription. in April 2021, my eBay account got restricted and seller listing limits went to zero after i had an issue with eBay, which means i could never again sell on eBay as i couldn't solve that problem. this happened a few days after i had paid my April 2021 invoice to Webinterpret. I closed my eBay shop and asked Webinterpret if they could refund me for the recent 2021 yearly payment since i couldn't benefit anymore from the service due to no longer selling on eBay. they said no refund. fair enough. i told them to close my Webinterpret account. NOW, February 2025, i get an email from a Spain based lawyer representing Webinterpret asking me to fulfill the payment of 699 euros (including interest) for an invoice from April 2022, and to send the payment to a bank account given in the email. i suppose it's the law firm's bank account. imagine the fraud. I stop using Webinterpret on April 2021, ask them to close my account (i couldn't find a way to do it myself through their website's dashboard). yet this fraud company billed me for an additional year for services i didn't use. i stopped selling on eBay April 2021 and they billed me again for April 2022 for one more year just because they didn't close my account at that time when i told them. not only that. the 2021 payment was a waste of money anyway, since i stopped selling on eBay, and now they want me to give them 700 euros for 2022 and the lawyer letter also said that if i don't pay in next 5 days, they will take legal action that will cost me the invoice plus all legal costs. I'm not paying a cent for a service not provided. today i have also emailed Webinterpret about this and i have yet to receive a response. i feel completely scammed and robbed.
