No service will provide perfect data, so it doesn't make sense to spend a fortune when you can get great value instead.

Positive: Melissa data allows one-off searches in some of their tools so you can transparently evaluate the data provided without even paying a penny. Plus, they have a free level of service that can be a boon for small-time software developers who need to do a few queries while they develop their software and don't expect a return on investment until after the tool goes live.

Negative: The quality of the data is not guaranteed. This is not a criticism of Melissa data specifically, it's just a fact of life with any data aggregator. Things change with properties that won't be reflected in any database immediately.

Summary: Melissa.com has been a great asset to make use of, and with so many options and high accuracy, it is well worth any learning curve!

Positive: Melissa has so many options available with a very low bar of entry to use them! Each search option can be tweaked to work with whatever information you provide, and other options available streamline it for you if you do bulk searches. The accuracy from Melissa is far higher than other free options available out there.

Negative: Getting started for the first time, the amount of options are a tad overwhelming. It would have been nice if similar tools were grouped together, not by whether it is a batch option or not, but similar in function.

Summary: We use Melissa Data for address validation on our ecommerce platform and the service is reliable and fast.
