Freesound is a collaborative database of audio snippets and samples, recordings, and other bleeps. They are released under Creative Commons licences that allow their reuse. Freesound offers new and exciting ways to access these samples. Users can browse the sounds using keywords, a "sounds like" type of browsing, and upload and download sounds to the database. They can also interact with other sound-artists. We also plan to create an open database that allows sound-artists to use them for scientific research.
