Freesound Description
Freesound is a collaborative database of audio snippets and samples, recordings, and other bleeps. They are released under Creative Commons licences that allow their reuse. Freesound offers new and exciting ways to access these samples. Users can browse the sounds using keywords, a "sounds like" type of browsing, and upload and download sounds to the database. They can also interact with other sound-artists. We also plan to create an open database that allows sound-artists to use them for scientific research. Third-party applications can also be integrated into the database. Developers and researchers can access the Freesound API to retrieve meaningful sound information, such as metadata and analysis files. For more information, please refer to the API documentation and the developers section. You can use the freesound API for non-commercial purposes, but you can also license it.
