Managed Pressure Drilling, including Underbalanced Drilling, (MPD), precisely controls the annular fluid pressure profile in a wellbore. This allows drilling of economically feasible prospects that might otherwise be unattainable. Management of pressure drilling is often done with the primary goal of reducing formation damage.
