We created it as a simple perl script that visualized how people use Twitter. It was a result of our desire to show how people use Twitter and who they are talking to. This is the first of many apps related to Twitter that we have created. Between 800,000 and 1.5 billion tweets were stored. The app also shows the minute-by-minute global Twitter Trends over the past three years. You can click on any month in the timeline to zoom in and see your stats for that month.
