Total Tool Management Description
ETW, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of custom and standard tooling, uses a wide range of tools in its machining areas. Each tool assembly can be replicated in our CAD/CAM program with user-defined templates. This allows for accurate part simulation. Programmers can quickly program parts and choose a tool from our CAM library. Standard tools are used whenever possible, as they often stay loaded in the machines to cut down on setup time. Non-standard tools are used only when necessary, thereby reducing unnecessary tool setups. ETW developed its own software, Total Tool Management (TTM), to help with tool management and track usage. Each component and assembly is stored in a central database that allows you to search for any component or assembly quickly and easily.
