    Summary: It's good if you really want to make some phone calls while you are in another country and you want to receive phone calls but expect that this number will not last!

    Positive: I like text now at first because I could finally call my country and receive text messages to my phone while away. I started using this phone number to get people to reach me while in a foreign country I use it in my email signature I use it on my business card I used it on my website but then...

    Negative: After a couple of weeks of using text now one morning the app was no longer connected to my account and I could no longer retrieve my phone number. So out of despair because I needed to make a phone call in my country I decided to just create a new account thinking that I would have to change all the phone numbers everywhere where I had a written the old text now phone number... And again I lost access to that number a second time and it is this time text now banned me. And I would have had to fight for my number and I talk to myself to the heck with that! I'm done with TextNow I'll never use it again.

    Summary: The app is so bad that I purchased another cheap phone, and pay for a real extra phone line now. It's slightly more expensive, but the way they do business at text now (pay walls for basic services) is slimey to me, and I will never support them again.

    I do not understand why I keep seeing high ratings online. Everyone I know who uses this app thinks the same way I do about them.

    Positive: Was great before the company introduced all the pay walls. Now a barely serviceable extra line.

    Does not drop the majority of calls.

    Negative: App selectively does not ring or alert you to texts (even after applying company prescribed fixes).

    Have to pay to get access codes, or they are willfully blocked. The price is ridiculous.

    Ads everywhere for you to accidentally click on.

    App pirates your phone after some texts, and makes you watch a full commercial, in the middle of your conversation. Solution is to close the app, and reboot it. Loading time is slow.
    Can you imagine if you were in trouble?!

    I actually paid to have my number reserved for a few months, and found out that it is a separate charge to get access codes, despite it not being advertised that way.
