Summary: Still use it. Rock solid.

Positive: Did another developer take over?

That would be great.

Negative: Didn't the solo developer pass away a couple of years ago?

Summary: It has been a game changer for me and surely saved a lot of time and tedious typing. Amazing spreadsheet view and management of clipboard entries, it has everything you can ask to a clipboard manager and more. I tried tons of alternatives but this program outclass them all. It is a pity that this gem is not as popular as it deserves. Unfortunately the official site has shut down but you can still download the full version which author gave for free in the last period of activity (I could download it through the internet archive wayback machine).

Positive: Customizable and easy to use, useful and complete spreadsheet style management of clipboard entries and snippets. Lot of useful functions.

Negative: It is not immediate to understand the utility of the sheets and it has so many functions that it takes a little time to uncover them all, but once you use them you can no longer work with a pc without it. Sometimes conflicts with my Excel (2016) for some reason but I could find a workaround.

Summary: I would pay 10x over for this!!! Especially if someone could provide me working download link ;-) Fingers crossed!

Positive: I have used this tool every single day of my work life for 10+ years. Great for emails especially when you communicate similar messaging all the time. It's so easy to use and holds so much info. I love the video tutorials! I don't want to live without it!!!

Negative: Unfortunately, mine is telling me "Eval Period is Over" even though I purchased moons ago. This has happened before but I just downloaded it again and was back up and running. BUT this time, I can't find a download link that works. Do any other Spartan Lovers have this? If so, can you provide it! I don't know what I'll do without it :(

Summary: I have version 21.13. Works great. Been using it since the late 80's. If there is a newer version, I'd buy it simply as a gesture of support for a good Scotts program that I find so useful in my everyday work. Spartan is worth way more than John Turnbull charges!

Positive: I use Spartan virtually every day, saving me time and trouble. Most especially for my email, don't know what I would do without it.

Negative: There have been some glitches in the past, none now with Windows 10.

Summary: Great program. I use it every day. Stores text, pictures, and formulas. The clipboard is active in your tray and follows you from program to program.

Positive: The permanent saves and picture saves are excellent. Take a few minutes and watch the tutorial on YouTube. It is great, you will learn a lot, and listen to a great Scot accent!

Negative: Hard to find software when I purchase a new computer.

Summary: Outstanding. Easy to capture messages, photos, written paragraphs, pages etc. Once set up it serves as a library type of data/photo resource for multifarious applications for both teaching and communications.

Positive: Complete versatility and universal application. Almost unlimited storage space and availability if set up correctly. Have been using this resource since 2011 as a necessary adjunct to assist in teaching distance learning university courses at the undergrad 400 and graduate level with great success.

Negative: Lack of portability. Have application setup on my large desktop system with a large screen to accommodate online teaching. When traveling, I must use my laptop to teach at other venues. Cannot transfer nor carry my desktop Spartan data with me. The lite version obviously does have the same features.

Summary: I've used Spartan for 20 years or more and I wouldn't be without it, despite the occasional annoyance as noted here, it's been totally reliable.

Positive: Watch the Youtube video - it's a must rather than reading here to quickly see the capabilities.

There is just so much to like about the actual software and what you can do with it in respect of saving all sorts of information and graphics.

A little bit of a learning curve for some of the functions, but no more than I get with every Windows and browser update - and they seem to come along every couple of months.

Negative: One or two non-Windows conventions but you'll soon pick these up.

The biggest gripe is that I couldn't easily save all my stored clips when I recently bought a new computer and wanted to 'import' them. I ended up cutting and pasting the most important ones to a Word doc and then manually transferred them.

The original Spartan M8 site seems to have gone. I suspect Sourceforge is now the only up-to-date source for information etc.

Can't see any way of checking for a current update which would be great for my new computer, but the five-year-old version I have is running just fine.
