Helpful software. And Peace of Mind

    Date: Feb 26 2024

Summary: The customer service and support staff have been helpful to us when we needed them. Overall, I am please with the cloud-based backup solution.

Positive: We have enjoyed using Spanning backup solutions for several years. It is great to be able to use it to restore data to Google Workspace. It does a great job.

Negative: The per-user licensing is a little frustrating. Like most such products, we need to oversubscribe be in order to deal with "edge cases". Also, we are unable to afford to back up student documents at our school due to the pricing model. Basically it is for "full time employees only", and that is not ideal for a school.

Solid Backup Solution for Google WorkSpace

    Date: Feb 22 2024

Summary: Overall it is a solid backup solution that meets our needs. It has been critical for us at certain times of need.

Positive: I like its easy to use interface, consistent backup schedule, and ability to reliably restore missing files and emails.

Negative: The cost for additional storage is hidden in the fine print. I wish that was more transparent. You really go a certain amount of storage per license user, which isn't clear when signing up.

    Spanning 0365

    Date: Feb 14 2024

Summary: The products is good and affordable. I recommend it for pro who didn’t spent time with this task. The support do a good job in a short time.

Positive: Price ok, functionality simple and delegate to users. No surcharge for stockage. Ui is perfect and simple. Documentation is good and support reactive.

Negative: Roadmap not clear and new features take long time to arrive on portal. Need some advance features. Like backup logs, add object, etc.

    Simple easy backup solution

    Date: Oct 24 2023

Summary: All in all with the low cost and great solution it offers I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a secure backup of their driver to consider Spanning Backup.

Positive: I like how easy it is to use and with little to no upkeep keeps working. The few times I've need to do large backups everything went fairly smoothly.

Negative: The few times I've done some backups it does take a while, but that's not abnormal when recovering thousands of files.

Simple and powerful Cloud SaaS Backup and Recovery

    Date: Oct 13 2023

Summary: Cost effective, self service, time saving platform which exceeds our compliance and security constraints we operate from as dictated by our many financial clients. It was a perfect fit for us.

Positive: From implementation to file restoration the system is just plain simple. Don't let the simplicity fool you though, its powerful tool to have in any IT admins corner.

Negative: Initially UniView was a bit of a challenge to set up, however support was right there to assist and completed the task with us.

Backup Works well, but customer support and service is terrible

    Date: Feb 26 2024

Summary: Overall, it's not a bad software, and given the options on the market, it should be considered. Once you are a company of any scale, I would think a more customizable system would be better.

Positive: The backup software and platform is very easy to integrate with g suite for drive, email, calendars, etc. We've also had good success using the backup to access individual files/emails, or complete backups of accounts.

Negative: The license management is difficult and overly rigid. Adding licenses can be done automatically when new users are created, but there isn't a way to scale the number of licenses down. Customer service is lacking or unable to assist in any meaningful way during renewals. For this price point, I would think that simple adjustments could be made.

    Terrible Customer Service

    Date: Mar 01 2024

Summary: Great service. Poor customer service & terrible people interactions. I would not recommend it to others because of the terrible customer service.

Positive: The backup is ok. It does what we need it to do. It works ok to help with compliance. It is simple to use.

Negative: We have been customers since 2014/2016 ish. Every year, when it comes time to pay our bills, there always seems to be a problem. The billing department will tell us that auto pay is on and working but never takes the money. Then, when we try to pay for service manually, we are told we can't because auto pay is turned on. So, our service was canceled.
The other thing is that a sales rep calls continually but can not help us with billing issues, he is only authorized to sell us stuff we don't need.

There are better solutions... and companies.

    Date: Sep 13 2022

Summary: I was a fan of the Spanning backup service when the company was just "Spanning". Then EMC bought Spanning and made the product another "offering" of theirs and I feel it suffered at the hands of a bigger company. Once Kaseya took over, Spanning went downhill and not only did the product become weaker, the company alienated its customers with dreadful support.

Positive: Interface is decent, software (most likely) works. Product is offered with good features at a reasonable price.

Negative: While the software works in the background of Salesforce, it works a little too much in the background. It's not super obvious that all of the necessary content is backed up. It's kind of like a "set it and forget it" but more like "forget it". Also, customer support is terrible.
