Kara is the first artificially intelligent assistant that automates physician charting. Kara is a mobile assistant that lives on an iPhone (or any iOS device). This means it can be reached wherever and whenever you need it. There are two main modes for Kara. The ambient mode allows Kara to listen in real-time to the conversation between a patient or physician during an on-premise visit or telehealth visit. It listens to a brief summary of the visit in recap mode. The machine learning algorithms that underpin the system interpret and transform relevant content to create referrals, notes, and other forms of information. Before the final data (both narrative and structured) is uploaded to your electronic health record (EHR), a human-in-the loop reviewer checks for quality. The physician experience is completely hands-free and hassle-free.
