The city pays more than half the costs. Residents can get the $500 program for $175 for a 6-zone system, or less for larger systems. How does the program work First, we conduct a "Simple Yard Audit" to evaluate the irrigation system. Next, we replace the old controller by a Hunter Industries HydrawiseTM Smart weather-based controller. This adjusts based upon the forecast from their virtual weather station that we program for them. Based on the Simple Yard Audit, we adjust runtimes. Next, we educate residents on HydrawiseTM controllers via their cell phones and discuss their primary recommendations for their yard. We follow up with a detailed report that includes calculations and recommendations for irrigation water use versus savings expected from the SIP.
