This solution utilizes two backup technologies: VMB Native, developed by STORServer and used as the default option, and VMB Spectrum, which is derived from IBM Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments, specifically designed for VMware data protection. The architecture facilitates the direct transfer of virtual machine (VM) data to and from VMs and IBM Spectrum Protect storage pools without needing to involve ESX/ESXi servers, while the implementation of changed block tracking (CBT) significantly reduces the volume of data that needs to be transferred, enhancing efficiency.
