SAVE Description
SAVE, an interactive simulation of a refinery environment, was developed in collaboration with OMV (Oregon's national oil-gas company). Before they can operate in a real-world refinery, refinery apprentices must be able to operate equipment and plants correctly and safely. The VR headset allows the user to see and operate complex machinery and scale ladders. An experienced trainer can monitor the trainee's progress and guide them through the training session. The time it takes for a trainee to be able to operate major machines, apparatus and equipment on their own is up to 12 months. You can practice at your own pace until you reach the required standard without putting the plant at risk. This training is essential for safety in any new employee who has never worked in such a plant.
