ProtonPACS Description

ProtonPACS, a picture archiving solution, manages image storage, distribution, and optimizes workflow throughout the organization. It offers front and back-end patient management solutions that reduce manual and/or duplicate patient information entry. Integration of HL7 to information systems (EHRs, RISes, etc.) The platform includes this feature.

ProtonPACS includes Intelerad's Inteleviewer. This diagnostic viewer gives radiologists and other healthcare professionals the tools to optimize images and change layouts, measure critical points, perform image reconstructions, and create key images. Radiologists can use the integrated speech recognition engine and worklist to create reports for referring doctors. Both reports and images are accessible via any web-enabled device from the system's portal.

ProtonPACS uses a secure hybrid model that combines on-premise hardware and cloud hosting.

    5 Stars for ProtonPACS

    Date: Dec 08 2020

Summary: Working with ProtonPACS has been an easy and now essential part of our radiology experience in our Orthopedic Practice. I have been in MRI specifically, for over 25 years and cannot imagine going back to doing things the way we used to. We no longer wait on reports to fax them to physicians, the reports are back and in the patient charts sometimes within the hour! This is especially beneficial for patients who need treatment quickly because of professional sports or people in the music industry who make their living on the road. The software itself includes everything a practice needs in terms of tools and practicality and now has become an essential part of our practice, as I could not imagine life without it! Lastly, the staff with this company, ProtonPACS, is always helpful, polite, and able to resolve any issue we have had in a timely, professional manner.

Positive: ProtonPACS makes our lives as technologists and clinicians easier, cutting our 'turn around time', (the time it takes to get a patient report back after a diagnostic, radiological study, example, MRI, X-Ray, CT Scan.) Our patients have an MRI Study in the morning, and often times stay in the building for their follow up with the Orthopedic Surgeon an hour later! I can remember when MRI reports would take several days to a week to get back to the patients. It's hard to think about going back to any other system other than ProtonPACS now that I've worked in a practice that has it.

Negative: There are so many tools within ProtonPACS, I still haven't learned it all. It's not really a CON I suppose, but, I want to know every tool there is and I am still finding ways to measure, link, display, sort, etc., There is certainly nothing lacking in ProtonPACS and the company even sent someone to train us on the software as well as provide us with help any time we need it. Everyone I have dealt with has been knowledgeable, polite, and quick to take care of any issues.

Proton PACS is the best solution!

    Edited: Dec 08 2020

Summary: I would absolutely recommend this product for a PACS solution no matter the size of your practice. It has actually helped grow our business with the portal to give access to referring providers with the report attached! Excellent product at a great value!

Positive: I love the fact that I have access to quality images and the report right in my back pocket. This solution works great with all of my devices.

Negative: I haven't really found anything that I don't like.

    Easy to Use

    Date: Dec 08 2020

Summary: But user friendly and easy to do things in.

Positive: It is easy to use. If Healthland goes down we can manually enter orders to show up on modularity.

Negative: You have 4 programs to do different things in.

    Proton PACS review

    Edited: Dec 08 2020

Summary: Very pleasant. Our physicians and technologists are very pleased with the product. We have not had many issues.

Positive: For those with little experience it is easy to navigate and understand. Even when I'm trying a feature for the first time, it's not overwhelming or scary. Our staff have been able to familiarize themselves with features by their own simple investigation. Whenever I've needed support, the reps were knowledgeable and helpful.

Negative: None noted. I do not have much experience with other systems to compare fairly. But that in itself speaks to the user-friendliness and smart design of ProtonPACS.

    Dependable System

    Date: Dec 08 2020

Summary: I use ProtonPACs on a daily basis and am extremely happy with the system and it's ease of use. Very reliable.

Positive: ProtonPACS is a very dependable system. In the last 2 years of using ProtonPACS there have only been a few times the system was down. The customer service is spot on and prompt to fix or help with any issue with the system.

Negative: The only compliant I have with ProtonPACS is searching for a patient if the MRN is unknown and if name of patient is misspelled. I would like to see another option available to search like DOB or last 4 of SSN.
