PiLims Description

PiLims, an OPC client software product, allows an operator, technician or engineer to enter data on Windows Server-based computers and then pass that data into a DCS/PLC. Many situations require that data must be downloaded to the DCS, such as in a manufacturing plant or chemical plant. Many times, data entry into the DCS/PLC is impossible or may be prohibited by laboratory policies or control room policies. It is safer to enter data into a Windows server computer, especially if there are other special requirements such as printing labels, custom validation, or other needs. Data from a laboratory might need to be entered on a custom computer screen. The data then needs to be transferred to a DCS/PLC. PiLims is the right software product to meet this need. PiLims can also be customized with a user interface that specifies the names of the laboratory tags and samples.
