Dr. David Chan and McMaster University’s Department of Family Medicine created OSCAR. It is now one of the most popular EMRs in Canada thanks to McMaster's leadership, and vital contributions from its open-source community. Our common vision is to facilitate continuous improvement in health outcomes, services, and experience. This includes making care providers and patients' experiences and results the best. This is achieved through cutting-edge research, development, and knowledge sharing among a vibrant group of clinicians in collaboration and skilled developers and experts in security and technology systems. This network of clinicians includes McMaster and Queens, McGill, McGill, and the University of British Columbia. It also includes thousands of physicians from diverse practice settings. Our vision is realized by offering OSCAR as an affordable, progressive EMR. OSCAR is the integrated hub for clinicians in a dynamic, growing digital health ecosystem.
