OpenText SOCKS Description

OpenText™, SOCKS Client, a Windows®,-certified security solution that connects with hosts across firewalls, is certified by Windows®. OpenText SOCKS client doesn't require any modifications to enterprise applications. It helps organizations enforce security policies, and allows applications to reach legitimate hosts through simple, centrally managed rule-based settings. SOCKS Client uses SOCKS5, an industry-standard security protocol. This protocol allows computers to connect to other networks through a proxy. Firewalls can restrict IP data traffic severely, causing problems for software that does not use mainstream IP ports such as mail or remote access protocols. Organizations need a solution that protects firewalls and allows IP access to services behind them.
