OpenFOAM Description

OpenFOAM is a free and open-source CFD program that was developed by OpenCFD Ltd. It has been in use since 2004. It is used by many people from both academic and commercial engineering and science fields. OpenFOAM offers a wide range of features that can solve complex fluid flows, including those involving chemical reactions, heat transfer, turbulence, and turbulence, as well as acoustics and solid mechanics. OpenFOAM is professionally updated every six months to include customer-sponsored development and contributions from the community. It is independently tested by ESI OpenCFD's application experts, development partners, and selected customers. It is supported by ESI’s global infrastructure, values, and commitment. The basis of quality assurance is rigorous testing. The code evaluation, verification, and validation process includes several hundred daily unit test runs, a medium-sized test run on a weekly basis, as well as a large industry-based test run.
