SurveyJS is a set of four open-source JavaScript libraries that offer the benefits of a tailor-made in-house survey application, while considerably reducing the time and resources needed to deploy the system. These libraries are independent of specific server code or database requirements and seamlessly integrate with popular JavaScript frameworks, including React, Angular, Vue.js, jQuery, Knockout, and more. They are designed to communicate with any server that can handle JSON requests, ensuring compatibility with various server architectures and databases.
The product family is composed of:
- An open-source MIT-licensed rendering library that renders dynamic JSON-based forms in your web application, and collects responses.
- A self-hosted drag & drop form builder that features an integrated CSS-based theme editor and a GUI for conditional rules. It automatically generates JSON definitions (schemas) of your forms in real time.
- PDF Generator, a library that renders SurveyJS surveys and forms as PDF files in a browser;
- The Dashboard library that allows you to simplify survey data analysis with interactive and customizable charts and tables.

MakeTheForm
MakeTheForm serves as a comprehensive backend solution for developers and agencies to manage forms efficiently. Instead of the hassle of creating an API route, managing a database, and setting up email for each contact form, users just need to direct the form submissions to a single MakeTheForm endpoint. This service is compatible with standard HTML, various JavaScript frameworks such as React, Next.js, Astro, and Vue, as well as popular site builders like Webflow and Framer, including pages created by AI website generators.
All submissions are initially stored and then sent out, ensuring that data is not lost even if the intended destination is temporarily unavailable. Each submission is organized within a searchable and exportable inbox, and notifications can be sent via email, Slack, signed webhooks, or integrated with tools like Discord, Notion, Airtable, HubSpot, Mailchimp, and GitHub. In case of delivery failures, MakeTheForm automatically retries the process to ensure successful submission.
To address spam, the system employs a multi-layered filtering approach that includes honeypots, content scoring, allowed domains, and rate limits, all while keeping the user experience smooth by avoiding the need for CAPTCHA challenges for genuine visitors. Additionally, this streamlined process saves developers time and effort, allowing them to focus on more critical aspects of their projects.
