Picard supports all popular music formats including MP3, FLAC and OGG as well as WMA and WAV. Picard uses MusicBrainz, an open, community-maintained database that provides accurate information about millions upon millions of music releases. Picard uses AcoustID audio fingerprints to identify files by their actual music even if there is no metadata. Picard can locate and download the correct album cover art. You can specify exactly how your music files should be named and what the tags should look like using a flexible, but easy-to-learn programming language. You can choose from a variety of plugins available or create your own.
