    Open source and free LMS

Workplace is NOT recommended for any migrations coming from out of date Moodle versions

    Date: Jul 13 2023

Summary: RECOMMENDATION - DO NOT GO TO WORKPLACE IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO MIGRATE A HIGHLY CUSTOMIZED OR OLDER SITE. Workplace features nice to have if your are at a place where you can start a site from scratch.

Positive: There are nice to have features of Workplace, mostly they can all be replicated on the open source version with the exception of the multi-tenancy and dynamic rules features.

Negative: Coming from an out-of-date Moodle version with a high degree of customizations, Moodle Workplace partner was not able to handle our load sufficiently and ran into a myriad of issues. We never even got out of onboarding phase to go to a live production site.
