Monster Mash Description
Monster Mash is a new sketch-based animation and modeling tool that allows you quickly to sketch a character and then inflate it into 3D and then quickly animate it. All interactions can be done in the sketching program. No 3D manipulation is necessary. Our approach is not like previous sketch-based tools. It does not require a tedious multi-view workflow and the explicit specification for an animation rig. We combine 3D inflation and a novel rigidity-preserving, layer-preserving deformation model, ARAPL, to create a smooth 3D mesh ready for animation. The model can be animated from one viewpoint, and does not require the handling of unwanted inter-penetrations as with previous approaches.
