M2L Description
M2L is an integrated library system that has attracted the attention of national, specialized, and reference libraries around the globe. M2L was officially released in 1998. It was initially developed with the help of experts from the library community in order to meet the needs small and medium-sized libraries. M2L's easy-to use graphic interface is designed for Microsoft Windows™. It allows users to import/export and manage bibliographic information in a structured and easy-to understand manner. M2L can also automatically download data from OCLC™, the Library of Congress and AMICUS™. It can also be set up to allow for similar download functionality for other national and international databases. Despite originally being designed for specialized/reference/private libraries, M2L is now garnering great interest in the public and lending libraries around the world.

It doesn't matter how complex or large the libraries are. The Evergreen Project is an open-source ILS (integrated librarian system) that is used by more than 2,000 libraries worldwide. The software, also known as Evergreen, is used to provide a public catalog interface and to manage back-office operations such as circulation (checkouts, check-ins), acquisitions of library materials and (especially in the case with Evergreen), sharing resources between libraries. Evergreen relies on the following technologies: Perl, C. JavaScript, XML. XPath. XSLT. XMPP. OpenSRF. Apache. Mod_perl. For Evergreen installations, it is recommended to use the latest stable version of a supported Linux distribution.
