LIMSey Description

LIMSey is a cloud-based laboratory information management system (LIMS) for engineering and manufacturing test labs. Most LIMS platforms target clinical diagnostics, pharmaceutical research, or genomics. LIMSey is built for physical test labs inside manufacturers: appliance, automotive, packaging, aerospace, and industrial equipment.

Capabilities include a test request intake portal, job and task tracking on configurable kanban boards, sample tracking with chain of custody and barcode labeling, automated resource scheduling, equipment and calibration management, training records, template-driven test reports in PDF or Excel, and dashboards for turnaround time, throughput, and equipment utilization.

The AutoScheduler works from capability matrices for personnel and instruments, task durations, and job priorities. It assigns the soonest qualified resource to each task and recalculates the schedule when priorities, durations, or availability change. Calibration records support reverse traceability, so when an instrument fails its as-found check every affected job is identifiable immediately.

Architecture: multi-tenant SaaS on AWS in US regions, browser-based with no client install or plugins, and multi-availability-zone database replication with daily automated backups.

Integrations: REST API, single sign-on, CSV and Excel import and export, BI tool read access, and automated email notifications.

Security: encryption in transit and at rest, role-based permissions with per-module granularity, and a complete audit trail recording user, timestamp, and prior value for every change. Supports ISO 17025 requirements including document control, corrective action, and equipment traceability. Hosted in ISO 27001 certified data

    Great combo of Ease & Features - Great for growing labs

    Summary: My experience with LIMSey has been much better than some of the other major LIMS systems out there that I've used in the past. It is much easier to implement and has many great features to make laboratory management easier. This seems to the one of the best systems for small labs that are growing, because it's very easy to implement, it helps you maintain ISO 17025 compliance, and it's easy to train new technicians to the system.

    Positive: This software is very easy to use and requires very little training for new users. It has a lot of helpful features for ISO 17025 compliance, such as Preventive Maintenance, Document Control, Corrective Action system, etc. It is constantly being updated with new features to help manage laboratory operations. This LIMS is much more than just information management - it aims to manage many other aspects of your lab as well.

    Negative: The only drawback is that we can't store data locally, although they do have provisions for downloading your data.

    Thank you for the review. At this time we are a strictly web-based application and do not have plans in the near future of offering on-site installations. For other data assets like attachments (pictures, videos, documents, etc.), local storage and retrieval integration can become a bit tricky in regards to syncing so it's not something we've prioritized. However, you can provide links in the application to your local storage which should provide a similar experience without the complexities of syncing.

    Summary: LIMSey has been a great addition to our lab. Prior to implementation, we were using MS Excel to manage our lab testing. Management loves it and so do our auditors.

    Positive: LIMSey provides a management system for our product test lab that we could not find with the other LIMS available on the market. The others were designed for medical or biological labs and were not as cost efficient for our small lab. The customer service is excellent and they are always open to our suggestions for changes or improvements. They are very familiar with ISO 17025 requirements for laboratories and provide solutions to help us meet those requirements.

    Negative: Inability to print within the database. You can create a final test report, but the other pages (Jobs, Tasks, etc.) do not format well for printing.

    Summary: Best software for the money from what I have seen on the market. The support from the LIMSey team is outstanding.

    Positive: Nice flow to the process. Information is clear and easily found. The cost is great for the features provided.

    Negative: No email notifications for status changes and updates. Must be in the the software to receive updates.
