Summary: Good, inexpensive product for those with financial considerations.

Positive: This is an easy to use accounting system especially for small and not for profit organisations where expense is a significant consideration. It is easy to follow and has great backup assistance

Negative: It just takes a bit of time to change to the double accounting but becomes second nature after a while.

Summary: One-time affordable payment for the simple to use software that does everything I need to be done. For someone who does double-entry bookkeeping work, this is a great choice.

Positive: For one time, very affordable payment, we got a highly effective double-entry accounting system with intuitive and simple user interface. I am a CPA with over 30 years of work in public accounting in the U.S. and have used all sorts of accounting software over the years. Recently, I came across LedgerLite and was happily surprised by how I was able to start using the software right away and generate all essential reports. Especially with ability to import and export data in csv format, LedgerLite has the ability to interface with other data processing applications. I initially was somewhat stumped by the entries were ordered in the trial balance report. Initially, TB grouped accounts by expense, income, asset, liability and equity and ordered by account number within the groups. I needed the TB to list entries simply by account numbers. When I submitted support request to Responsive Software, the program was quickly updated within a day. Truly impressed and very thankful that I found this software.

Negative: Not as feature-rich as other accounting softwares. However, for me, not a disadvantage as the simple and intuitive user interface is one of the strong points.

Summary: As a chartered accountant in the past I have set up lots of other systems for non accounting clients. They should all use this program.

Positive: Maintaining chart for my own needs and ease of data entry was brilliant. Could then tie that into my very own reports. The grouping function is great for keeping analysed data which I don't often need without it cluttering the reports that I want to see all the time.
Responsive are honest, double entry knowledge is needed .

Negative: In the cash book if you aren't entering a ledger account it might help if you had to still put something in, to prevent it just being accidentally missed (I can see some non accountants might do that)

Summary: Excellent, simple to use, great back up, user problems when encountered, which is rare, are sorted expeditiously.

Positive: The simplicity of the software, you don't pay for what you don't need, and a once off purchase price.

Negative: Some aspects of reports, having to do year end journals via adjustments.

Summary: I have used this software for many years to input my data to produce reports in order to prepare my taxes. I have a Bookkeeper who prepares my taxes and she always says the information I give her is perfect and exactly what she needs for tax preparation. Each year I look for any updates and am always grateful LedgerLite is still available, operating and current. Best, easy to use, accounting software, especially for self-employed. THUMBS UP!!!!

Positive: I love the ease of this software. Do not have to be an accountant or have a degree in accounting to understand how the accounting software works. Up and running in minutes. Easy to develop the Chart of Accounts and I can tailor it to my specific needs and accounts. Able to save data at any time in order to check work before continuing to the end. Reports are easy to print or view. I have looked for the perfect software for my business as I am self-employed. This is PERFECT for my company.

Negative: There is nothing that I did not like. It completely met all my accounting needs.

Summary: I am very happy with the program and with the support from the developer. He has responded to all of my questions promptly and with a personal touch often missing in today's world.

Positive: Being the treasurer of a Lions Club I was looking for an accounting program that was easy to use, but flexible enough to include fundraising projects. After using LedgerLite for the past 4 months I am very pleased with the program. I have had not a single glitch or problem with the program. Due to Covid-19 our Lions Club has not been able to do fundraising projects — until now when we have finally figured out how to do one. LedgerLite has allowed me to produce reports that focus on the new project. I can add as many projects as we need. The help videos answered my question as to how to manage fundraisers. Questions not covered in the videos, were answered by the program developer almost as fast as I could ask them.

Negative: LedgerLite does not have all of the report formatting bells and whistles as some of the high priced programs, but that is a minor concession for a great, easy to use accounting software.

Summary: Wow.
I have used many different accounting packages over the years (~20 packages) and this is by far the easiest to use.

This is perfect for a small business or non-profit organization.

Positive: Everything:
- Small Program - one program file plus the data file - No installation necessary.
- Intuitively laid out so everything you normally need is a clickable link instead of drilling down into endless menus.
- Flexibility to allow you to do things the way you want - example - either lock down ledger from editing transactions or not (cannot be reversed once locked).
- Fast - so amazingly fast it's like "ludicrous speed".
- Inexpensive.
- Excellent and speedy support.
- Makes using an accounting package easy (I'm not an accountant).
- Help files, videos and links to simple accounting tutorial are very helpful.

Negative: - Does not run natively on Linux. (I hate Windows but love this software)
But this is very easily overcome by running it in WINE. No Issues here at all.
Runs just as if it was a Linux program.

Summary: It will be my second year using LedgerLite and I am very pleased with it. Considering I was absolutely new to bookkeeping when I purchased the program, it was exceptionally easy to get a grasp of, thanks to a wonderful customer service I've received.

Positive: Straightforward, inexpensive way to track income and expenses and have essential reports available at any time.
Easy to use even for a complete beginner in bookkeeping.
Great customer service!

Negative: No complaints. We have been looking for an off-line money tracking option for our business and have found what's needed, for a great value.

Summary: An excellent outcome in what might otherwise be a continual headache for voluntary organisations like Grey Power.

Positive: Our community organisation has a high turnover of voluntary committee members, enthusiastically serving our ageing members but often lacking previous accounting or book-keeping experience. Our introduction to Ledgerlite has been a totally positive experience.
The simplicity of the system has made my periodic overview of income and expense entries so easy to adjust to accurately reflect our various cost-centres.
I can now confidently delegate our membership records and day to day finances to relatively unskilled volunteers. Our membership now enjoy consistently presented Annual Accounts, something which seldom occurred when inexperienced volunteers were confused by more fully featured business packages.
The low cost and excellent support really is 'the icing on the cake.'

Negative: With our task intensive and straight forward financial management controls, no 'cons' have been encountered during our four years use of the software.
We recommend Ledgerlite to any similar non-profit organisation.

Summary: I am so glad I found this product for our small business. It is easy to use, provides good income statements and balance sheets for my accountant and I would highly recommend it. Matthew Jenkinson is a prince. You can contact him any time and he is always available to help you with anything big or small. My hard disk failed and I thought I had lost all my data. He's in New Zealand. I'm in Canada. He was able to work closely with my local tech company to find the missing data and reload it. A truly sweet and professional guy who knows what he is doing.

Positive: Easy to set up and use, excellent support, reliable product.

Negative: Would like to be able to print expense entry pages by date.

Summary: I really enjoy using it, as its quick and easy. The reporting is really super too. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Positive: I like the fact that it's a double entry system, and it's really easy to use. The fact that it has two files only, makes life easier too.

Negative: You can't put labels or company logo on statements.

Summary: LedgerLite is a most adequate simple cash management for a low price with no regrets of purchase. I have found it to be very easy to use- especially for treasurers without financial accreditation. Once a few key transactions have been recorded, it is easy to understand and pickup for a new user by simply highlighting a similar transaction in the cashbook and duplicate, check and change the right date of transaction. New entry done! Ample selection of reports.

Positive: Easy data entry with Duplication facility speeding up similar transactions.
Good On-line video for learning LedgerLite detail structure.
CSV upload of cash management transactions and cost/income categories to Consolidated Branch files.
Easy cash accounting for multiple accounts and inventory.
Control (It is all in the chart of account design).
Easy access to LedgerLite designer for advice of setup of accounts (GST, Discounts, raw materials).

Negative: Single entry transaction only; not able to split income and expense items into several cost or income codes . But what do you expect for the price.

Would like to produce an electronic PDF of report that can be saved and emailed to others rather than tied to having to have LedgerLite on computer to print.

Summary: I love it. I'm using it now for three companies. Good price too.

Positive: Easy to set up and to use. Excellent support. Good price.

Negative: Reports requires some level of accounting skills to put together especially for "sub accounts".

Summary: My overall experience is very good and I would highly recommend it, for anyone looking for a easy to use basic program

Positive: You can set up your accounts pretty much as you like. It is pretty simple to use, altho it did take a little figuring out how some things worked at first. You can print out anything from any time frame. It is easy to back up or copy . You can't beat the price .

Negative: entering payments you have to enter the names each time. You can't create a list of names to choose from. If you want to zero income and expense accounts at yearend , you must do it manually
