A review of Hoxhunt Date: Mar 14 2024
Summary: Overall, Hoxhunt really delivers on the messaging behind their campaigns in a fun, interesting and challenging way. I would recommend Hoxhunt to anyone looking at delivering an effective educational programme to staff who need to understand various security issues that all companies experience today.
Positive: Challenges are accurate of everyday attempts to steal data.
There is an element of fun in doing the learning modules which are easy to grasp with very good explanations to get the gist of the message being delivered.
The challenges are not constant or consistent meaning you have to really think carefully about something that has arrived in email and how to approach it.
Gamification of the whole process keeps things interesting amongst your work colleagues.Negative: Nothing really. I guess the gap in between challenges might be too large, but I am sure this is also something that can be set.

A small, but incredibly impactful, email addon Date: Jul 09 2024
Summary: This program is an effective tool for employees to use, especially if email is utilized a lot. I have grown in my own skills with cyber security and I can confidently say that I owe that growth to Hoxhunt. It doesn't take long to complete a simulation they send (usually every other week or so for my organization). Using this program has even lead to some laughs during staff meetings when coworkers share about some excitement they had from receiving an email, only to find out they were Hoxhunted. I highly recommend this program.
Positive: There are many things I love about Hoxhunt.
1. It's very user friendly. In the beginning, I found the emails to be what I considered a little excessive. I didn't understand why I would be getting fake emails sent to me... Until I clicked one thinking it was legitimate. This program is all about raising awareness to phishing scams. I am so eager to write this review because I have noticed improvement in my own awareness and engagement when dealing with emails.
2. It gamifies what most consider to be a not fun part of work. I work for a very large employer. I don't know everyone nor their roles. But after catching ("winning") a Hoxhunt email, you earn stars to go towards a better badge. Hoxhunt does a great job with only showing 6 users who have similar scores as you. You don't know who's doing way better or worse at reporting emails. On the occasions I see someone's name I do know, I have sent a screenshot to them so we can laugh about the friendly competition. It's a silly way to grow friendly engagement among coworkers in a very busy environment.
3. It has made me feel more confident in my skills. I didn't buy into the process at first. Now I'm an advocate for Hoxhunt. Much of what I (we) do at my work is confidential and comes from many email address that are outside our organization. Hoxhunt helped me grow my awareness and skills with recognizing phishing attempts that I clearly didn't recognize at the early stages of use. Thanks Hoxhunt!Negative: I don't have any complaints about Hoxhunt at this time. I have used this program for about 2 years now. At the early stages they had a few features I didn't like and had submitted feedback accordingly. The company has since adapted new approaches that has changed every aspect I wasn't a fan of. So at this moment, there isn't anything that I can really complain about.

Protect your company by playing a game Date: Jul 01 2024
Summary: Well balanced product making workers corporate live a bit harder, but it worth it! Playing the game really makes us stronger and ready for security calls of everyday life.
Positive: Perfect security awareness increasing and phishing mails generative solution. It can be integrated with company business processes, using different triggers while generating fake emails, so the topic will be precisely close to the current life or business situation of a user. After playing that game, you almost don't know anymore, what is true and thoroughly check any information.
Negative: Phishing emails generated by Hoxhunt can be even bewildering, action-provoking – it can be very difficult sometimes to carefully read it. Suddenly you are informed, that your corporate card has been used by someone else, your business trip is cancelled or your access will be revoked. Thus it's not that simple to keep your mind cold.

Fake Emails Can Be Silly: The practice emails can be a bit too lighthearted sometimes. They could be more realistic to really prepare us for the bad guys out there.
Limited Choices: There aren't tons of different practice emails to choose from. Ideally, you could pick ones that match the kinds of scams our company might face.
Keeping Up the Fun: The game aspect is cool at first, but it might get old after a while. They need to keep adding new stuff to keep things interesting. -

It's useful and actually quite fun Date: Jun 19 2024
Summary: Honestly I really liked it! Something new across the boring work inbox. Starting from the "usual" training phishing and scam emails - you can report them via Hoxhunt and also get a micro (but useful) explanation about what have you just reported. Later - "spicy mode" - sometimes really believable and hard to detect. Also the gamification aspect is surprisingly fun. By reporting and completing micro trainings you unlock achievements and upgrade your "shield". It's a first time I saw such mandatory thing be quite enjoyable. Nice! :)
Positive: Explanation of security and phishing.
Training spotting phishing and scam.
Fun.
Now I'm paranoid of every unusual email I receive.Negative: Dashboard takes time to find, I always forget where it is.
