Horde3D Description
Horde3D is an open-source 3D rendering engine. It was designed to provide the next-generation of visual effects in next-generation games, while remaining lightweight and as conceptually simple as possible. Horde3D's interface is simple and intuitive and can be used with almost any programming language. It is especially well-suited for rendering large numbers of animated characters in next generation quality. This requirement is reflected in the entire scene graph and animation systems. Horde3D, for example, tries to keep node hierarchy small to reduce overhead and to use cached information for faster animations. The geometry can be optimized for efficient cache usage. You can also use multiple levels of detail to create a model. It is possible to use vertex shading and deferred shading to reduce draw calls for scenes that have many lights.
