Element Description

Element is a communications platform with security at its core, built on Matrix: a decentralised and end-to-end encrypted protocol. Element brings your teams together, boosts productivity and workplace satisfaction, while enabling complete ownership of your data.

Easily collaborate with your partners, suppliers or clients with video calls and instant messaging: like email for the 21st century. You can even connect your Slack, MS Teams, WhatsApp accounts. On the other hand Element can be closed for high security environments using secure border and cross domain gateways, and even air-gapped deployments.

Being built on Matrix, there is no single point of failure for the network thanks to the decentralised network architecture, making it perfect for mission-critical environments.

For full data sovereignty, install Element into your own data centre or on-premise. Alternatively, let us manage your setup in our secure Element Cloud, in a region of your choice.

In Forrester’s words: Element is a great fit for: "...organizations that prioritize flexibility, federation, and data sovereignty".

How to provide team collaboration and don't go crazy

    Edited: Jan 11 2023

Summary: We are a product IT company that has grown several times recently. At a certain stage, we realized that different parts of the team use a total of more than 10 solutions to communicate with each other. This made us and the users angry, so we decided to do something about it. The Element gave us the opportunity to close issues with migration to a single solution, provided reliable security in communications within the team, as well as with external partners, and also allowed us to collect information from our corporate systems (git, task tracker, etc.).

Positive: Pricing: based on our inquiries and after comparing with the closest competitors, the price was on average 30% lower for the same or better set of options.
Communication: at every stage, from the presale to the solution of everyday problems, there is always a person who can listen to your question, knows how to help you, what to suggest or find someone who can.
Design: from the point of view of the code, a very modern project that uses the latest trends in development, does not stop developing and improving.
from the point of view of design, everything is made as native and understandable for users as possible.
Security: not one of the few solutions that offers a really high-quality level of security that does not burden users and the system, and does not reduce the functionality of the product itself.
Features: the system is very amenable to customization and scaling, supports all the platforms we need, and also integrates with all corporate services. Even if a certain tool does not have enough functionality for you, it can be added through a feature request.
Ease: at the beginning of operating the product, you need to understand the basic logic of the architecture and the principles of operation, but after some time you will feel very comfortable in administration and management.
Customization: one of the developers said that you can customize anything, but it turned out that it is really so. And that's cool!

Negative: Due to the high speed of project development, sometimes the documentation does not have time to be updated, which can sometimes be misleading. However, this is easily remedied by communicating with the development team. In the same reason you can sometimes collide with small bugs, usually the fix is ready within a week.

    - strict security
    - Web client, Android client available
    - Active community

Negative: - strict security (if one forgets password, past secure postings are lost)
