ECAP Description
Researchers from the University of Kansas's School of Social Welfare conducted a study to assess the impact of the Enhanced Child Placement (ECAP) program on outcomes for children and families. This pre/post analysis evaluated placements made through ECAP against those made without its assistance. The findings of this research are summarized below. Additionally, the team examined over 22,000 historical placement records to determine how specific characteristics influence placement stability. In light of these findings, ECAP's algorithms were refined to enhance its effectiveness even further. The Family and Child Team (FCT) is engaged in ongoing research projects that aim to deepen our comprehension of how placement matching correlates with improved outcomes for children and families. To ensure continuous improvement, we collaborate with experts from our Research Advisory Board, leveraging predictive analytics to mitigate trauma for children and families nationwide by enhancing the ECAP program. As we progress, our commitment to refining our methods remains unwavering, ensuring that we align with the best practices in child welfare.
