Cameras automatically acquire publicly signed SSL certificates, and all Meraki management information is encrypted by default. The novel architecture places video storage on the camera and not in the cloud. This ensures critical network activities have the bandwidth they require. The MV family has eliminated the need for a network video recorder (NVR), and its complexity, by using solid-state storage on each camera. Only use WAN bandwidth when absolutely necessary. Allow less than 50kbps per camera to send metadata to the cloud, even if footage is not being viewed. This will reduce WAN usage.
