Boerse Stuttgart Group's blocknox GmbH handles the custody of cryptocurrencies via an escrow system. The service was launched for users of the BISON App at the beginning of January 2019, and extended to users of the Boerse Stuttgart Digital Exchange at the end September 2019. Blocknox has implemented a multilevel security system for the custody and protection of cryptocurrency. Blocknox plans to offer custody services to cryptocurrencies and other digital assets to institutional clients, such as banks, fintechs, and asset managers. They can use the blocknox's trusted custody as a foundation for their own digital asset services. Blocknox has applied for the necessary licence to regulate crypto custody in Germany, effective January 1, 2020. Blocknox is already a provisional financial services provider and has not yet been granted a licence.
