Bonita BPM Description

Bonita BPM is the process automation platform developed by Ofelia, the French software company that was known as Bonitasoft until May 2026. This platform is specifically designed for complex, regulated, or critical operations that cannot be effectively managed with standard workflow tools.

Teams can create tailored process applications that incorporate intricate business logic, enforce service level agreements, maintain comprehensive audit trails, and facilitate orchestration across various systems including ERP, CRM, legacy platforms, and bespoke services. Each action taken within the system is meticulously recorded, ensuring that every decision is accountable.

The platform offers two development paths that utilize the same underlying engine. Bonita Fabric serves as the comprehensive development environment, featuring Bonita Studio— a process designer that translates everyday language into BPMN, along with a user interface builder and built-in AI connectors. In contrast, Bonita Work Hub provides a no-code pathway, allowing applications to transition seamlessly to Studio without needing to be rebuilt.

The system architecture is designed to be open and modular, prioritizing API integration, with no proprietary runtime language, which allows for deployment options that can be on-premise, self-hosted, or within your own cloud infrastructure. Additionally, Bonita BPM is available in both open-source and commercial editions, providing flexibility based on user needs. This dual approach to software delivery enhances accessibility for a wide range of businesses.

    Bonita's Streamlines the processes!

    Date: Oct 05 2023

Summary: It's a very good BPM platform, flexible for scaling, and powerful for tackling any type of business process.

Positive: I like the simple and intelligent way in which business processes can be set up and orchestrated. These can create a robust BPM (Business Process Management) flow to help clients improve their operations.

Negative: In general terms, the platform is very efficient and serves clients looking for a high level of efficiency. However, one challenge may be that the cost limits our ability to expand it to a larger market.
