I love BlueGriffon but.... Date: Jan 07 2022
Summary: I love BlueGriffon, except for its strange flaw. It goes for 4-5 months between when it blows up.
Interestingly enough, it works fine in source mode, and if you aren't afraid of looking at HTML, it is quite serviceable in source mode.Positive: Lots and lots of features. I am especially in love with its ability to create a table of contents. I will generate beautifully simple HTML/CSS, because it's not a word processor and it doesn't try to create beautiful documents, it's an HTML editor and it creates HTML documents.
Negative: It unreliable. Every once in a while, it will break. Deleting the configuration files and reinstalling it doesn't help. I have gotten no help from the author.

No licence received, emails not responded to Date: Mar 20 2024
Summary: Great software but essentially been ripped off. Paid for a license but the seller never sent me a license key and refuses to reply to my many emails. The forum for the product mentions that he abandoned the software and can't be reached. Abandonware is one thing but simply stealing the "license" money is fraud.
Positive: Great HTML editor with split view. Fast editing. Nice user interface. Dark theme support. Alternative to DreamWeaver.
Negative: Paid $90 for a license, didn't get a license, author unresponsive.

Terrible piece of software Date: Sep 21 2022
Summary: A terrible, terrible waste of time. I spent a day screaming at CSS not behaving when it was BG all the time.
Positive: Does some of what I'd expect... But there is little else to say positive about this app. See Cons for details.
Negative: It is buggy and the UI is bad.

For example, I have two tabs open, one for the HTML and one for the CSS. BG secretly writes HTML into the CSS but does not show it. Your HTML then does not render as expected. I thought at first I must be accidentally pasting HTML into the CSS but no, it was BG. I wasted nearly a day before discovering this - and then only because I looked at the CSS in another editor.
And the UI leaves a lot to be desired. Long filenames are truncated and it can be difficult to know which tab is which (for example, if I have a 'test' and a 'live' open in different directories and have copied test to live - now which tab is which, you can't tell). Plus some of the tabs can be unreadable because they are so gloomy.
