BASIS Database Management System (DBMS), provides developers with relational access and fast direct navigational access. BASIS DBMS offers robust and powerful functionality that allows developers to combine powerful SQL statements with relational data access methods with performance and control over navigational operations, such as direct table and table movement and index and table access. The BASIS SQL engine allows developers to execute queries as well as other SQL statements using third-party products. Combining these two powerful data access methods yields the result set from an SQL query, or from a table that was opened directly on the server using the highly optimized BASIS ISAM engine. The result is a simple-to-use interface that supports SQL commands as well as direct-result set navigation.
