Aquaforest Searchlight's OCR for SharePoint, Office 365 and Windows ensures that your documents can be searched 100%. Aquaforest Searchlight automatically converts non-searchable files such as Images PDFs, scans of image files, and faxes to fully searchable PDF format. These files must be processed using optical character recognition (OCR), which creates a text version of file contents. This allows for a searchable PDF by merging the page images with the text. This allows the file to be searchable. Searchlight for on-premise SharePoint would be installed on an on-premises SharePoint server. Searchlight communicates with your SharePoint via standard Microsoft APIs. The document processing takes place on the Searchlight-installed server.
