Apryse allows small teams to implement big features Date: Apr 28 2023
Summary: Apryse is a great platform that I'd recommend to anyone who is looking to implement PDF editing within their application.
Positive: Easy to implement and maintain while allowing my product to deliver very professional and powerful features to our customers.
Negative: Documentation was a little lacking earlier on, but it's improved over the last few years.

PDF SDK Review Date: Feb 26 2026
Summary: Overall our experience with Apryse has been mixed. We wish that we could implement the tools faster and we have not been able to implement them as quickly as we like. The Apryse team is knowledgable and easy to work with, however, we wish that we could use the tools we bought faster and have the Apryse team really walk us through how to implement them faster.
Positive: The Apryse PDF SDK allows us to implement our custom side panel with our own unique functionality for a PDF editing experience. We had some complex requirements that Apryse was able to address related to bookmarking and navigation.
Negative: Speed of implementation has been a concern. We faced some issues early on with the styling of our side panel and annotations. We still have not been able to go to market with the PDF editing tool which is a big concern.

Strong PDF capabilities, but disappointing engagement and follow-up Date: May 29 2026
Summary: We evaluated Apryse for advanced PDF use cases related to hyperlink integrity, digital preservation, and large-scale reference analysis. While the SDK provides solid PDF processing functionality, our specific requirements were not sufficiently supported. The biggest disappointment, however, was the absence of meaningful follow-up after providing detailed evaluation feedback. Technical products can evolve, but strong customer engagement and transparent communication are equally important. Based on our experience, we decided not to move forward with the platform.
Positive: Apryse offers a mature PDF SDK with a broad feature set and supports many common document processing use cases. The platform appears technically capable for standard PDF manipulation, rendering, and workflow automation scenarios.
Negative: During our proof of concept at Link Genetic, we encountered limitations related to the discovery and analysis of internet references within PDF documents. More importantly, we provided detailed feedback after the evaluation and never received meaningful follow-up. For a company positioning itself as an enterprise partner, responsiveness to prospect feedback is critical. The lack of engagement significantly reduced our confidence in pursuing further collaboration.
