AppO helps make complex decisions by breaking it down into consumable steps. AppO allows you to use tangible measures such as cost/benefit, production statistics and business ratios mixed with any intangible criteria such as reputational benefit, ESG measures etc. Commonly used to select and prioritise portfolios of projects AppO can increase the strategic alignment of your portfolio. AppO can analyse an unlimited number of investment opportunities and prioritize them in order of relative business value. It can also identify unbalanced portfolios by highlighting apparent underspend or overspend on any value measures. AppO allows you to include an unlimited number of opinions of what constitutes value, which will allow you to analyse the opportunities relative to each stakeholder or stakeholder group. AppO can infer the logical consensus position among stakeholders and highlight areas where compromise may be necessary. Thus, you could include investors, customers, and other stakeholders in your strategy development process. Because decisions taken with AppO are statistically defendable if you include ESG value measures AppO will assist in demonstrating how serious your organisation is about ethical behaviour.

Summary: Many companies, like us, operate in multiple markets and multiple countries, which makes it difficult from a corporate perspective to compare investment opportunities across those markets. Finding AppO eliminated the issue entirely, presenting us with detailed comparisons of relative business value for each of the potential investments even though the differing markets required differing approaches to measuring value.
Positive: The product is really good for comparing investments made in different markets under different business models.
Negative: Currency conversion does not occur on the fly at the moment.

Summary: Working in the resources industry we are often challenged by the complexity of capital investment decisions. Thankfully we found AppO so now our decisions are made simply, regardless of complexity and in a much shorter timeframe that without AppO. We couldn’t recommend AppO more highly
Positive: Being able to model our full cost/benefit analysis alongside our ESG considerations. Also being able to model our entire corporate structure.
Negative: Visualisation could be more graphically based but we were able to work with it.

Future Production Capacity Date: May 11 2022
Summary: We needed to make a critical decision about creating further production capacity. Were we going to outsource, build from scratch, acquire pre-built and fit-out? When we laid out the basis of the decision we found we had over 100 selection criteria many of which were intangible. AppO made light work of the problem and we were even able to identify a series of fall-back strategies on project options.
Positive: Ease of use and taking simple steps to solve a very complex problem. With over 40 criteria to consider apart from our cost/benefit analysis AppO made it to easy to set the framework for success. Getting relative importance of each criteria is a snack and the detailed analysis, including sensitivity analysis, was just what the doctor ordered.
Negative: Embarrassing to say that nothing comes to mind. This is the first decision support software we have used and it filled all of our needs. If I had to mention something then maybe adding standard surveys to collect stakeholder opinions but this can be achieved by integrating other products.
